Beginning of the Internship

I chose Doug Fleenor Design [DFD] for my internship because it is a well-established manufacturer, and I can learn about the entire manufacturing process. DFD designs and manufactures data distribution equipment for the lighting entertainment industry. It is a small company employee wise, but they are well known and a large chunk of the Entertainment lighting industry.

When I asked to be an intern for the company, they said yes, and that since they hadn’t really had many interns in the past, I could work with them to decide what and where I should work. This sounded great, because I had never really worked in a manufacturing environment before. I also liked the idea to be doing a lot of different things.
